vhs: Wild Autumn Cuisine – Homemade Herbal Liqueur and Oxymel

Autumn offers a special variety of wild plants and ingredients that can be used creatively in the kitchen and for homemade products. The vhs course Ro.01.10.02 therefore focuses on autumnal herb cuisine. On 24 October, from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm at the Christian-Zang-Haus, Schillerstraße 27, those interested can learn more about the world of wild plants. Herbalists will explain the wild plants and ingredients used, as well as their properties and effects. Afterwards, participants will work together to make a herbal liqueur using fruit from local shrubs and prepare a winter oxymel to support the immune system. In the process, they will gain practical insights into the processing, combining and preserving of the ingredients. Both products will be bottled in small jars and can then be taken home. A freshly prepared wild herb snack rounds off the workshop and will be enjoyed together in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants must be at least 18 years old. Please bring a chopping board, a knife and drinks. Those interested can register online at www.vhs-rodgau.de or send a written registration to vhs Rodgau, Hintergasse 15, 63110 Rodgau. Further information is available from the staff at the Adult Education Centre on 06106/693-1225 or -1231.
