Following approval by the committees of the city of Rodgau in December 2025, preparations are underway for a 10-year project to renovate the drinking water pipes in the municipal utility's supply area. In the course of the renovation, 3 km of water pipes and around 400 water house connections are to be renewed each year. The entire construction project will cost around 28 million euros. The renovation will be carried out by Stadtwerke Rodgau itself. On 12 May, Stadtwerke Rodgau will begin renovating the drinking water pipeline in Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in the Weiskirchen district. The approx. 700 metre long water pipe (built in 1960) urgently needs to be renovated due to frequent faults (burst pipes). The renovation of the supply line is divided into three sections. The first section stretches from Jahnstraße to Udenhoutstraße, with work on the first section scheduled to last until the end of June. This will be followed by the second section from Udenhoutstrasse to Goetheplatz and the third section from Goetheplatz to Schillerstrasse. During the renovation work, the supply line in each section will first be renewed and then, where necessary, the house connections will be renovated. Stadtwerke employees will carry out a house inspection to determine the scope of the renovation and inform the owners about the renovation work required for their house connection. The construction work will result in half-sided road closures and parking bans in the area of the construction site. The construction work in Friedrich-Ebert-Straße is expected to be completed by the end of August 2026. Stadtwerke would like to thank local residents for their understanding of this measure.
