The "Villa Kunterbunt" support association organised a large waste collection campaign under the motto "Colourful instead of rubbish - for a clean Rollwald", in which numerous children from daycare centre 6 took part together with their families. The campaign was supported by the Rodgau public utility company and as part of the town's "Clean Rodgau" initiative. Equipped with high-visibility waistcoats, child-friendly bin tongs and bin bags, the little heroes and heroines set off from the S-Bahn car park in Rollwald. They collected everything that didn't belong in nature with great joy and seriousness. With playful activities such as a rubbish sorting game and a short nature hunt, the children were able to consciously perceive and discover their surroundings. This showed impressively that even the youngest children already know which rubbish belongs in which bin - and why it is important to protect our environment. Everyone came together again for a picnic - each family had contributed something and everything was shared. After around three hours, the participants went home tired but satisfied - with many wonderful impressions and the good feeling of having made a difference together. The campaign emphasised how important role models are: Carelessly discarded rubbish on squares or paths rarely stays there - wind and weather carry it further into meadows and forests, where it can endanger animals and damage nature. This makes it all the more important to sensitise children to this issue at an early age.
