vhs: Progressive muscle relaxation

In the vhs course on Saturday 3 January 2009, participants will consciously tense and then relax various muscle groups in turn. This helps them develop a deep awareness of their bodies, enabling them to relax in everyday life, reduce stress and improve their general well-being. This course comprises four evenings, each lasting 75 minutes, during which a brief theoretical section is covered, followed by practising the conscious tensing and release of various muscle groups. The aim of the course is to enable participants to apply this technique independently in their daily lives, thereby making it easier to relieve stress, improve their well-being and experience a more relaxed everyday life. No prior knowledge is required to take part. Those interested will have the opportunity to continue the course with further practice sessions. The course starts on Monday, 21 September, and runs for four weeks at the Weiskirchen Community Centre, Schillerstraße 27, from 6.30 pm to 7.45 pm. Please bring an exercise mat, a blanket, a small pillow and warm socks. Course fees can be found on the website or in the vhs programme booklet. Those interested can register online at www.vhs-rodgau.de or send a written registration to vhs Rodgau, Hintergasse 15, 63110 Rodgau. Further information is available from the staff at the Adult Education Centre on 06106 693 1225 or 1231.
