The Hainhausen Local Court is seeking a new lay judge. Anyone wishing to volunteer for the town and take on a role of responsibility may apply by 30 October. The term of office is ten years. The role involves various duties relating to local justice. These include, amongst other things, certifying signatures and copies, issuing death certificates, and carrying out tasks relating to the administration of estates. Local courts also play a part in establishing and maintaining property boundaries, as well as in the valuation of land. Life experience, reliability and personal suitability are required for this voluntary role. Applicants should also be familiar with the valuation of land and be resident within the Hainhausen Local Court district. Individuals who handle legal matters for others on a commercial basis or who are practising as solicitors or notaries are not eligible for this role. Interested members of the public are invited to apply for this voluntary role. The application should include a CV, details of professional qualifications and a police certificate, which must not be more than three months old at the time of application.
