Fire safety training for senior citizens in Rodgau

The training session focuses on important everyday issues: How do you make an emergency call correctly in an emergency? What should you do if the alarm goes off? And how does a smoke alarm actually work? Participants will receive practical explanations and tips to help them act safely and calmly in an emergency. The event takes place on 29 September from 2 pm to 4 pm. A particular highlight is the appearance of a firefighter wearing breathing apparatus. This provides a clear explanation of why emergency services personnel wear special protective clothing and breathing apparatus. In addition, the correct use of a fire extinguisher will be demonstrated and practised under expert guidance. The aim is to teach people how to deal safely with small fires and to overcome any hesitation they may have. The fire safety training will take place at the Mitte fire station, Weiskircher Straße 142, in Jügesheim and is aimed at older residents. Participation is free of charge. You can register until 18 September by contacting the City of Rodgau’s Senior Citizens’ Advice Service on 06106 693 1233 or by emailing senioren@rodgau.de.
