A new step
The town of Rodgau is taking a further step towards drawing up its municipal heating plan and will publish the current situation and potential analysis on its website at rodgau.de/waermeplanung from Thursday 22 October. As an interim step towards the heating plan, the current status and potential analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the existing heating supply in Rodgau, as well as potential future opportunities in the areas of energy-efficient building refurbishment, renewable energies and waste heat. Fundamentally, the municipal heating plan serves as a strategic guide for the gradual transition to a sustainable, carbon-neutral heating supply and is a statutory obligation for Rodgau. The results are not legally binding and do not give rise to any immediate obligations or costs for property owners. Rather, it sets out the roadmap for the town’s heating infrastructure development. For residents and businesses alike, the plan provides reliable guidance for upcoming modernisation or investment decisions.
What happens next?
Over the coming months, building on the analysis of the current situation and potential, target scenarios and measures will be developed to outline what a carbon-neutral heat supply for Rodgau might look like in the future. In doing so, suitable areas for district heating networks or individual solutions – typically heat pumps – will be identified, and corresponding action plans drawn up. The entire heating plan is expected to be finalised in the second quarter of 2027.
