A career built on commitment and empathy
A career always dedicated to the wellbeing of young children began in 1980 when Kerstin Heck took up the post of group leader at the Weiskirchen municipal nursery, and now comes to an end with her role as head of Kita 5. From now on, a new chapter in her life begins as she enters what is known as retirement. The town expressed its heartfelt thanks to this exceptionally dedicated member of staff and celebrated her fulfilling working life at a farewell ceremony. Alongside many colleagues with whom she had served for many years, Mayor Max Breitenbach and Deputy Mayor Janika Martin also addressed the future pensioner with words full of gratitude and appreciation. Alongside much praise for her professional expertise and her great passion for all aspects of child development, the speakers consistently emphasised her ability to recognise and nurture the potential of the team, as well as that of junior staff, for leadership roles.
Well-planned succession
It is therefore hardly surprising that Kerstin Heck planned her own succession at Kita 5 well in advance and successfully. Consequently, having held management posts in Weiskirchen, Dudenhofen and Nieder-Roden, she can now turn her attention to new horizons in her well-deserved retirement with a clear conscience. The new management team at Kita 5 – Dennis Schick and Dana Lallinger – bid farewell to their mentor with gratitude and a touch of wistfulness.
Mutual praise
The former nursery manager praised the town of Rodgau as an employer that had always been open to criticism and new ideas. The staff council, on which she served as deputy chair for several years alongside her management duties, also recognised her dedication. Last but not least, the children from Nursery 5 wished her all the best for the future in an original video message in the style of the TV programme “Dingsda”. In it, they recalled the creative time they’d spent together, Kerstin Heck’s brilliant ideas and her warm nature.
