Visible network for more child safety in Rodgau

The emergency island project

The town of Rodgau has been involved as an official project sponsor of the nationwide "Notinsel" project since September 2024. The aim of the project is to provide children in emergency situations with quick help and safe places to go in everyday life. Rodgau's primary schools were also involved in the project at an early stage. Two schools have already officially registered as "emergency islands".

School information material and the "emergency island school planner"

The town of Rodgau provided all primary schools with extensive information material - both for use in lessons and to inform parents. The topics covered include the aims of the project, the correct behaviour in emergency situations and how the "emergency islands" work. A special element of the project are the individually designed "emergency island school planners" or homework booklets. In addition to important information about the "emergency island project", these also contain tips on events in Rodgau for children and families. The Wilhelm-Busch-Schule in Jügesheim will make the "Notinsel-Schulplaner" available to all pupils in future.

Sponsors

Thanks to the support of four sponsors, this can already be realised free of charge for the new school year. The town of Rodgau and the Wilhelm-Busch-Schule would like to express their sincere thanks to: Arema Immobilien (Hainhausen), Cortina Wohnbau GmbH (Jügesheim), Automobilhandelsgesellschaft Blumenberg (Weiskirchen) and Klaus+Partner Steuer und Recht (Neu-Isenburg). "The Notinsel project thrives on strong local partners. Together, we are creating a visible network for more safety, awareness and support for children in Rodgau," emphasises Mayor Max Breitenbach.

How it goes

Various companies and institutions throughout the city are already participating as so-called "emergency islands". These are marked by clearly visible stickers or signs at the respective entrance and signal to children: "Where we are, you are safe." Children receive support there if they feel threatened, need help or find themselves in a difficult situation.
