Rodgau can look forward to a cultural season that will inspire, move, surprise and spark discussion. The Department of Culture, Sport and Volunteering is presenting a diverse programme at the Nieder-Roden Community Centre (Römerstraße 15). Kicking things off are DRY, all at once. on Friday 9 October on the Rodgau stage. Gerzlich, Brodowy and Börchers declare that they’d rather live in a bad democracy than in a good dictatorship. To this end, they sing in DRY harmony, argue, make up and serve up current affairs in a juicy yet dry manner. Just DRY. Broken down to the microcosm of two neighbouring families, on Sunday 18 October, *DEUTSCHER* describes the rift that a supposed political turning point is causing to run through our society. John von Düffel’s stage adaptation of Stefan Rogall’s screenplays for the eponymous four-part ZDF neo series neither passes judgement nor makes accusations. It observes and invites discussion during the interval and at the end of the performance. La Signora, the ‘cockroach of corny jokes’, is celebrating her twentieth stage anniversary on Thursday 12 November at the Rodgau Theatre! A fairy-tale anniversary with a happy ending for everyone. Twenty years of La Signora! Twenty years of laughter! Celebrate with La Signora… until the prince arrives. Anne Frank meets Adolf Hitler on Friday 15 January – a reading with music and song. The cabaret artist and singer Marianne Blum and the actor Thomas Linke guarantee an evening which, despite the gravity of the subject matter, is not only educational but also entertaining, just as Anne Frank’s text is not only sad but also passionate and humorous, and Hitler’s drivel is not only frightening but, in places, downright unintentionally funny. “Auf Augenhöhe” is the third solo programme by 28-year-old comedian Jonas Greiner. With his reflections on the absurdity of everyday life, the nonsense of modern times and the madness of the world, he will demonstrate on Friday 5 March just how important it is to take things with a sense of humour. For the eighth time, the Rodgau Laughter Night will take place on Saturday 17 April. Ole Lehmann will once again be hosting a fantastic mix of cabaret and comedy. What is probably the most unusual and funniest Sherlock Holmes story of all time can be seen on Sunday 25 April. In *Der Fall Moriarty* (*The Moriarty Case*), Holmes’ entire world view is thrown into turmoil. A battle for life and death, love and ruin begins. At the Children’s Theatre Days, the Little Mole wants to find out who has poo’d on his head. A play full of suspense, humour and poetry for children aged 3 and over, running from 11 to 21 May 2027.
