Two Advent weekends full of encounters and contemplation

Over the past two weekends, the 44th pre-Christmas celebrations of the city of Rodgau for senior citizens aged 70 and over took place in the city districts. Around 1000 guests accepted the town's invitation and enjoyed cosy hours with coffee, cake and Christmas treats in festively decorated community centres and in the EVO sports factory. The celebrations kicked off in Jügesheim, Nieder-Roden and Rollwald. A week later, senior citizens from Dudenhofen, Weiskirchen and Hainhausen met for their Advent afternoons. In all neighbourhoods, well-known Christmas carols, which were sung together, created a festive atmosphere and brought back many fond memories. Diverse stage programmes with cheerful children's dance and choir groups, festive brass ensembles and atmospheric solo entertainers made for enjoyable and entertaining afternoons. The organisation was once again supported by local clubs and associations, who made a significant contribution to the success of the events. The bus transfers offered in several parts of the town were also gratefully received and enabled many guests to travel to and from the event in comfort. Buses from Hainhausen, Rollwald and Jügesheim travelled to the respective event locations on both weekends and brought the participants back to the bus stops in the late afternoon. The town of Rodgau is delighted with the large number of visitors and looks back with gratitude on two successful, atmospheric Advent weekends.
