Service description
As the owner of a domestic well for drinking water supply, you are obliged to report it.
In order to ensure drinking water quality, the water from domestic wells for drinking water supply must be tested for contamination at regular intervals.
To determine the necessary tests and test intervals, your local health authority must be notified of the initial commissioning, construction, significant technical modification or transfer of ownership.
The health authority will then contact you regarding an on-site inspection and determine the scope of the water testing and the frequency of testing. The microbiological parameters of Annexes 1 and 3 TrinkwV must be tested at least once a year.
Procedure
You display your domestic well.
After you have provided and confirmed all the information, you will receive confirmation of the notification from the responsible health authority.
Your public health department will contact you for an on-site inspection of your well and coordinate the next steps with you.

You must notify the local health authority of a domestic well four weeks before it is commissioned for the first time, constructed or ownership is transferred. You must also notify the local health authority four weeks in advance of any changes to parts carrying drinking water that could have a significant impact on the quality of the drinking water. You must report the complete or partial decommissioning of a water supply system within three days.
