    If a citizen wishes to use public roads in a way other than that intended by the road authorities or in deviation from road traffic regulations, this constitutes special use, which is subject to authorisation and charges.

    Special uses of a commercial nature are, for example

    • Sales trolleys/sales stands
    • Goods display points in front of own shops
    • Information stands
    • Advertising displays/boards
    • Street café (setting up tables/chairs)
    • Bicycle stand
    • Billposting

    Content of the permit
    The special use permit is generally issued for a limited period or on revocation, subject to change. This permit is subject to conditions that must be complied with.

    As part of monitoring activities, unauthorised special uses or non-compliance with the conditions of the special use permit are recorded and appropriate regulatory measures are initiated (e.g. warnings, fines and penalty payments, substitute performance).

  • What fees are incurred?

    A special use permit is subject to a fee. The fee is based on the special utilisation fee regulations of the respective municipality or state.

  • What deadlines do I have to observe?

    Permit applications must be submitted in writing in good time before the intended special use begins.
