Service description
You can apply as a business person or company for events such as:
- Trade fairs,
- Exhibitions
- folk festivals and
- Markets
apply for participation.
The following applies to the application:
- You can apply for a certificate of attendance in accordance with the trade regulations.
- Organisers may restrict participation in markets in terms of the type and purpose of the market.
- When participating in these markets, you are exempt from the provisions of the Shop Opening Act, the Act on Sundays, Public Holidays, Days of Remembrance and Days of Mourning, the Working Hours Act and the Trade Regulations.
- If you belong to the group of participants of a scheduled event, you are entitled to participate provided there are no objective reasons (material defects) to the contrary. Whether you belong to this group can be seen from the corresponding determination.
If the public administration acts as the organiser, market freedom also applies. However, it can impose public-law restrictions on participants through municipal law (public institution). Through market regulations, which impose public law obligations on the persons organising the market.
Procedure
In order to participate in an event, you must apply for participation.
You can submit this application using an offline form or online via the online service.If you wish to apply for participation using the offline form:
- Open the corresponding PDF form.
- Fill in the application form.
- Submit the required evidence.
- Send the application by e-mail or by post to the competent authority.
- You will receive a confirmation of receipt from the competent authority.
- In the case of stand authorisation, you will receive notification before the start of the event.
- In the event of a rejection, you will receive a rejection notice from the competent authority.
- You will receive a notification of fees.
If you wish to apply for participation in an event via the online service:
- You call up the online service.
- You fill in the application form.
- For quick processing by the authorities, upload all the necessary supporting documents.
- Your application will be examined by the competent authority.
- If you have any queries, the responsible authority will contact you.
- You will receive a confirmation of receipt from the competent authority by post and/or e-mail.
- In the case of stand authorisation, you will receive notification approximately 2 months before the start of the event.
- In the event of a rejection, you will receive a rejection notice by post from the competent authority.
- You will receive a notification of fees by post.
Prerequisites
- You must belong to the group of authorised participants (applies to fixed events)
- You must fulfil the conditions of participation of the respective events.
- You may be excluded if you do not have the required reliability.

- The travelling trade licence requirement does not apply to fixed markets

What fees are incurred?
Cost type: variable
The costs are calculated and determined in accordance with the applicable cost tables.
The amount of the fee for prohibiting participation in an event is based on the time spent and is at least 33 euros.

There is no statutory application deadline. As a rule, applications must be submitted at least 8 weeks before the start of the event to ensure that applications are processed on time. However, for some events the application periods are longer. After the application deadline has passed, you can enter a late application process to maintain your chance of getting a stand.Processing time
