  • Service description

    The municipal women's offices fulfil the legal mandate to realise equal rights for men and women.

    You

    • are service centres for women and girls
    • develop women's policy concepts
    • ensure quality standards in the women's infrastructure
    • exercise participation and involvement rights at many levels
    • are "public interest organisations" and submit comments on draft state laws
    • publicise women's political issues
    • initiate and support women's organisations
    • are contact points for female citizens in municipalities, cities and districts as well as female employees in the administration

    The women's representatives and women's offices under the Hessian Municipal Code (HGO) and the Hessian County Code (HKO) are organised in the State Working Group of Hessian Women's Offices (LAG). Further information can be found on the LAG website.
