The Fire Department staff unit is responsible for the fire service in the town of Rodgau. It consists of an administrative department and a technical department. The Fire Department staff unit supports the volunteer fire brigade and acts as a service provider within the city of Rodgau, thus linking the volunteer department with the main office and the general administration.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Coordination of all matters within the framework of the Hessian Fire and Disaster Protection Act and the fire brigade statutes of the city of Rodgau
  • Budget preparation and monitoring incl. tendering for new vehicles, etc.
  • Administrative tasks for the members of the volunteer fire brigade
  • Processing of fee notices and appeals after assignments
  • Coordination of public relations work (e.g. fire safety education with schools and daycare centres)
  • Other administration (e.g. network technology and cost reimbursements)
  • Maintenance of vehicles, equipment and material (e.g. hose maintenance, respiratory protection, vehicle/equipment maintenance, radio and protective equipment)
  • Responsible for small jobs during the day
