Mentors wanted
The charity‘Wir sind angekommen e. V.’is looking for committed adults who enjoy supporting young people as they navigate their way through life. We are seeking people who, as mentors, would like to offer guidance, provide encouragement and share their own life experiences. Since its foundation, the organisation has been committed to supporting people on their journey and offering them assistance – not only in practical terms, but also socially, culturally and professionally. In doing so, the organisation sees itself as a bridge between different cultures. Creating opportunities for people to meet, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening social cohesion in a diverse society are central aims of the association.
Services and Mission
The services are open to everyone. Particular support is provided to refugees, people from migrant backgrounds, people with disabilities, families, and people facing financial difficulties or challenging life circumstances. The voluntary mentoring scheme focuses primarily on personal encounters and exchange. Mentors can offer young people guidance, support them in various life situations and, through their time and experience, open up new perspectives for them. A respectful and appreciative approach to one another is central to this. Members of the public who are interested can find out about the opportunities for getting involved at the Volunteer Exchange.
