The rodgaucard not only offers its users benefits when shopping locally, but now also supports modern electric mobility. In conjunction with an electric vehicle charging contract from Energieversorgung Rodau GmbH (EVR), the rodgaucard can already be used as a charging card for electric vehicles – at numerous charging points across Germany and even Europe. Under the slogan ‘Across Europe with the rodgaucard’, electric car drivers benefit from a particularly straightforward system. The prerequisite is an existing electric vehicle charging contract with EVR. Once the contract has been finalised, the rodgaucard is added to the customer’s account by the customer service team and activated for use. The rodgaucard serves solely as a means of identification at the charging points. No additional charging card is required. It also eliminates the need to register or log in separately with different providers. To charge, simply hold the rodgaucard up to the relevant charging point. Authentication then takes place automatically, and billing for the charging sessions is conveniently handled via the customer account. “Many residents already keep their rodgaucard in their glove compartment anyway. The fact that it can now be used not only to access the recycling centre or the composting facility but also as identification for charging electric vehicles makes it a particularly practical, value-added card for everyday use,” says Jennifer Jäger from the rodgaucard team. Naturally, the feature can also be used digitally via the RodauApp.
Transparent pricing across Europe
Another advantage is the transparent pricing structure. A standard charging tariff applies to the use of the connected charging infrastructure. There are no additional roaming charges. This means that charging costs remain manageable and predictable at all times, even when travelling. The available charging points can be easily viewed via the app or the Energieversorgung Rodau GmbH website. The Europe-wide network enables convenient use of electric mobility across national borders and makes the rodgaucard a practical companion in everyday life and when travelling. The rodgaucard thus expands its existing range of services to include another useful feature and offers its users added value beyond the boundaries of Rodgau.
