Imagination is the ability to visualise something. The aim of the artistic works by Johanna Galland, Thorsten Faber and Thorsten Frank is to stimulate this power of imagination and spark the imagination. From 9 September to 4 November, the three artists will be exhibiting their inspiring works at the Rodgau Gallery, Nieuwpoorter Straße 90, Dudenhofen, under the title ‘Imagination’. The exhibitors are united by a passion for using their art to spark the imagination. Thorsten Faber’s motifs are originally found in urban spaces. Faber photographs decayed and weathered elements on streets or on the walls of houses and transforms them. This gives rise to new patterns, forms and symbols. The result is reminiscent of the symbolism of ancient cultures or of street art. Thorsten Frank presents paintings in the Pan-Art style. His abstract paintings are created by applying multiple layers of paint – in some cases up to 80 layers – using a paint roller and a palette knife. The paints are handmade according to a special recipe and are characterised by their exceptional luminosity. The works suggest a sense of space and movement, drawing the viewer in. Organic, plant-like elements meet mathematically constructed forms. Winno Sahm will introduce the exhibition at the opening reception on 9 September at 6 pm. The artists will be in attendance. On Sunday, 18 October at 2 pm, all three exhibiting artists will guide visitors through their presentations and answer questions from the audience.
