‘Book Gnomes’ kick off the second half of the year

Following the summer break, the “Bücherzwerge” series of events returns to the Nieder-Roden Municipal Library on 11 September at 10 am. The programme is aimed at children aged 1 to 3 and their carers. In a relaxed and child-friendly atmosphere, the focus is on books, stories and the joy of discovering things together. A colourful programme centred on the world of books and stories awaits the children. Together, they can leaf through lovingly selected picture books, discover new worlds of storytelling and experience the Japanese storytelling theatre known as Kamishibai. The special combination of pictures and stories captures the children’s attention and stimulates their imagination. In addition, songs, finger plays and age-appropriate craft activities ensure a varied programme of entertainment. The various activities encourage children to join in, listen, marvel and give things a go. There is plenty of scope for the children’s individual needs and for shared experiences with their carers. Early exposure to books and regular reading aloud are of great importance for a child’s development. Language and writing accompany us throughout our lives. Looking at picture books together plays a special role in this. Storytelling and reading aloud not only stimulate the imagination and creativity, but also promote concentration, vocabulary and a feel for language. At the same time, looking at books together offers valuable time for bonding, interaction and socialising – and is simply a joy for book lovers of all ages. Participation in the “Bücherzwerge” is free of charge. Advance registration is required by 12 noon the day before.
