Death and bereavement are difficult topics, particularly when children ask questions and adults are searching for the right answers. An evening event on the topic of ‘Talking to children about death and grief’ will therefore take place on 27 October from 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm at the Family Centre, Alter Weg 63 F. How do children understand death? How do they grieve, and how can adults support them sensitively during times of farewell and loss? The event will address these questions and provide a basic understanding of how children process grief. It will also explore how adults can cope with their own feelings and grief. As well as offering practical suggestions for everyday life, the evening provides an opportunity for questions and discussion. Selected picture books on the themes of death, grief and new beginnings will be presented; these can help parents find a way to approach these often difficult topics with their children. Online registration is open until 19 October. Participation is free of charge.
