Autumn is now showing off its colourful side. However, this also means that leaves are falling from the trees in increasing numbers. To make it as easy as possible to dispose of the large quantities of leaves accumulating on pavements and roads, the municipal utilities are once again setting up large leaf bins at various locations this year. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in the bins being filled incorrectly, with packaging, general waste or garden waste being disposed of alongside the leaves. As a result, leaf vacuums cannot empty the bins completely and the contents cannot be taken to the composting plant. Furthermore, filling the bins incorrectly can damage the leaf vacuum cleaners used, leading to costly repairs. The town of Rodgau therefore reiterates that the leaf bins should only be used for fallen leaves and that other waste should be disposed of in the rubbish bins. Should the bins continue to be filled incorrectly this year, they will be removed from the location without replacement.
