Frank Fischer will be performing his show ‘Gagaland’ on Friday 16 October at 8 pm in the small hall of the community centre. The world is turned upside down. To make sense of it, you could try doing a handstand. Or you could stay seated upright and face all this madness with humour. In his new show, Frank Fischer takes his audience on a journey through a strange land, whose quirky inhabitants he brings to life with keen observation and subtle humour. He encounters gloomy Franconians and cheeky women from the Ruhr region, and comes very close to madness whilst listening to a Saxon radio advert. He also explores the pressing questions of our time: should we give artificial intelligence a chance if natural intelligence doesn’t work out; why do older people make unintentional noises; or why should we be sceptical when long-distance trains are suddenly running on time? He effortlessly bridges the gap between global politics and the absurdities of everyday life. Because whether it’s presidents, celebrities or the shop assistant behind the sausage counter – they’re all part of ‘Gagaland’. Tickets are available in advance from €17 from the Department of Culture, Sport and Volunteering at the Alte Apotheke, Schwesternstraße 10, and online at www.frankfurtticket.de. Any remaining tickets can be purchased at the box office from 7 pm.
