Becoming a grandparent marks a special new chapter in life, bringing with it many wonderful moments, but also a few questions. The preparatory course ‘Ready for Your Grandchild’, which takes place on 20 October from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm at the Family Centre, Alter Weg 63 F, is aimed at expectant grandparents as well as grandparents with grandchildren up to the age of 18 months. Midwife Christiane Anfang and the Family Centre’s coordinator, Louisa Weil, will provide an overview of how things relating to having children and family life have changed over the past 30 years. Topics will include new insights into children’s healthy development, baby care and questions about parenting. At the same time, the course provides an opportunity for personal discussion and supports expectant grandparents in finding their new role and offering the young family the support they need. Registration must be completed via the online process on the Rodgau town website www.rodgau.de by 16 October. Participation is free of charge.
