Public consultation on the views and needs of the local population

The Opinion Monitor complements the Sentiment Barometer

The town of Rodgau would like to find out how its residents perceive their town, which issues are important to them and where they see room for improvement. To this end, the town is conducting a public survey – the ‘Opinion Monitor’ – until 30 November. All residents are invited to take part. The aim of the survey is to gain as comprehensive a picture as possible of the views, needs and expectations of Rodgau’s residents. It also aims to highlight differences between various population groups and their respective priorities. The results will serve as an additional basis for the town council’s future planning and decision-making. The ‘Opinion Monitor’ complements the existing ‘Sentiment Barometer’ on the town’s participation platform. Whilst the Sentiment Barometer regularly provides a brief overview of how satisfied residents are with various aspects of town life, the Opinion Monitor goes into greater detail. It addresses a range of topics and enables a closer examination of the opinions and needs of different sections of the population. “It is important for us to find out how the people of Rodgau experience their town and what issues concern them.”

Anonymous participation, confidential feedback

“Through this public consultation, we aim to gather different perspectives and gain a better understanding of where, from the citizens’ point of view, action is needed,” explains Mayor Breitenbach. Participation is anonymous and carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. The town of Rodgau will receive only summarised and anonymised results. Individual response records will not be passed on to the town, meaning that the town cannot carry out any personalised analysis or link the responses to individual participants. Taking part offers the opportunity to contribute personal views and suggestions. The more people who take part, the more diverse the range of opinions will be. The town is particularly keen to reach out to residents who have rarely taken part in such participatory initiatives in the past. The survey is available until 30 November at
