vhs: Teachers' commitment honoured

The Rodgau Adult Education Centre (vhs) is celebrating several significant teaching anniversaries this year. First City Councillor Janika Martin honours the many years of commitment and outstanding work of the lecturers, who play a key role in shaping the wide range of courses offered by the vhs. "Our lecturers are the heart of the vhs," emphasises First City Councillor Janika Martin. "With their expertise, their passion and their tireless commitment, they enable our citizens to enjoy lifelong learning and personal development. I am proud of the quality and diversity that they bring to our educational institution." The following jubilarians deserve special mention: Radmila Feltes reaches her five-year anniversary. Ms Feltes has extensive training in gymnastics, several licences and is also active in various sports clubs in Rodgau. Previously, she was mainly available as a reliable short-term replacement. Since 2025, she has supplemented the programme with her own course offering: fall prevention for older people. Margaret Pauline Finnerty is celebrating her 20th anniversary. Born in Ireland, she began with conversation courses in English and meditation. After training as a pharmaceutical technical assistant, she trained as an alternative practitioner and undertook further training in meditation and acupressure. She has had her own practice in Rodgau since 2004 and regularly offers courses in stress management and Sujok. Jutta Fröhlich celebrates 10 years in the programme and inspires with knitting and crochet courses. She wants to introduce other people to hobby tailoring, helps people learn chart writing and supports participants in realising difficult projects. Marie-Luise Macey is also celebrating 20 years in the programme. She has been a master dressmaker and costume designer for 40 years and offers two "Sewing and tailoring" courses per semester at the Nieder-Roden Social Centre. She teaches the art of tailoring in a pleasant atmosphere. Sabine Sturzenegger is celebrating her 10th anniversary in the language courses. She has extensive source training and certificates in language teaching, is an expert in foreign language didactics and offers courses in Spanish, Italian, French and German as a foreign language. Luisa Toppino-Hofsommer is celebrating 15 years of teaching Italian courses. Originally from the vhs Offenbach, she came to Rodgau and has expanded her course programme to six courses per semester - her open and cheerful manner motivates participants to continue learning on a regular basis. Gabriele Ziegler has been teaching a yoga course at the family centre for ten years. She was originally trained by the German Red Cross and is now an integral part of the vhs family with regular participants. Other jubilarians who unfortunately could not be honoured in person are Brigitte Kreuzwieser (20th anniversary) - weekend sewing course, Gabriele Ginn (10th anniversary) - PEKiP® courses, Tobias Krauße (10th anniversary): Courses for Android smartphones/tablets, Christine Kämmerling (10 years): Stress management and mindfulness courses and Christian Löw (5 years): sports and exercise courses. Head of Department Stefan Jaud congratulates all those celebrating anniversaries on behalf of the town on their achievements and thanks them for their tireless commitment, which makes the Rodgau Adult Education Centre a lively place of learning and encounter.
