It was time to get out into nature for eight pre-school children and their carers from the Catholic nursery ‘Kinderhaus unter dem Regenbogen’. The group set off on foot for the Nabu site. Once they’d left the roads behind, the children were already discovering lots of exciting things along the country lanes. Things got really adventurous once they reached the Nabu site itself. After breakfast together, the children were split into several groups. One group was allowed to look at a beehive, bees and filled honeycombs together with a beekeeper. The group learnt a lot about the roles of the different bees, how many bees live in a working colony and what the difference is between that and a young colony. Of course, they also learnt how honey is actually extracted from the honeycombs and processed. Meanwhile, the other two groups were busy making a birdhouse and painting flowerpots in bright colours. After two exciting hours, they walked back to the centre on Otzbergstraße.
