New programme of the adult education centre

New courses, new topics

The adult education centre’s new programme booklet will be distributed across the city’s neighbourhoods from 10 August and will be available at, amongst other places, the town hall, community centres, libraries, bookshops and savings banks. The new courses can also be viewed online at www.vhs-rodgau.de. Whether it’s foreign languages, IT and media skills, soft skills, creativity, personal development, relaxation or fitness – the vhs has courses tailored precisely to participants’ needs. In total, the vhs offers over 170 courses in various fields. Many new courses are just waiting to be discovered. The range of courses on offer extends from ‘Wild Herbs in Late Summer’ to ‘Learning to Draw’ and ‘Creating Abstract Sculpture’ to ‘Gift Ideas Made from Epoxy Resin’ and ‘Soul Food in Autumn’, providing creative learning opportunities for the cosier months of the year. There are also new offerings in the areas of exercise, fitness and relaxation: courses on the fitness trail in Jügesheim, as well as strength training and self-defence courses specifically for women. In addition, the range of yoga classes has been expanded – from beginners’ and intermediate classes to more challenging options such as ‘Ashtanga Yoga’ and ‘Vinyasa Yoga’. There are also courses to boost digital skills, such as ‘Microsoft Office’, ‘Social Media Basics’, ‘Create Your Own Website with WordPress’, ‘Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Digital Wellbeing’ and ‘Introduction to 3D Printing and CAD’.

Tried and tested

Of course, the popular language courses in English, French, Italian and Spanish are still available at various levels. Anyone interested in organising a cookery course as part of a staff event or with a group of friends, or who needs a German course for their own staff, can contact vhs Rodgau. They are happy to organise bespoke courses on request. They also offer vouchers for a personalised course gift. The team at vhs Rodgau would be delighted if you visited their website or got in touch in person at the vhs office in the Town Hall, Hintergasse 15, Rooms 0.31 and 0.30. You can contact the vhs staff by telephone on 06106 693-1225, -1245 or -1231, or by email at info@vhs-rodgau.de.
