Candidates are still being sought for the upcoming Children’s and Youth Parliament election. Here are the requirements: you must be aged between 12 and 17, have your main residence in Rodgau, and be really keen to make a difference. The council offers the younger generation the opportunity to play an active role in shaping local politics over the next two years, to implement their own projects and to represent the interests of children and young people directly within the town council. The work in the parliament is varied and flexible: in addition to the regular plenary sessions of the full body, there are regular working group meetings. In these smaller teams, the young politicians can engage in-depth with issues close to their hearts – whether it’s the design of leisure areas, environmental issues or the expansion of cycle paths in Rodgau. They are supported in this by the council’s youth services. Applications can be submitted entirely online by 14 August. The relevant online form is available on the town’s official website at www.rodgau.de/kijupa. The online election will then take place from 23 to 30 August. To this end, all young people eligible to vote will receive a letter by post in the coming days containing a personalised QR code for casting their vote.
