Holiday games open in Dudenhofen

As the saying goes, after rain comes sunshine. Although the sun wasn’t shining on Monday morning, the faces of 43 children were all the more beaming. That’s because this week sees the start of the summer holiday games at the Dudenhofen Youth Centre. This time, 11-year-old Anastasiia, together with her sister, had the honour of ringing the bell to open the games. Deputy Mayor Janika Martin warmly welcomed the children, the five supervisors and the two integration assistants to the two-week programme. The theme of the holiday programme is ‘Yes, we can do it (ourselves)!’. In keeping with this theme, the youth centre is being transformed into a real smithy for two days. There, the children will learn about this traditional craft alongside a blacksmith. The programme also includes an exciting trip to the forest playground in Obertshausen. With such a varied programme on offer, an action-packed holiday is guaranteed.
