vhs: Wild herbs in late summer – foraging, preparing and enjoying

In the vhs course Ro 01.10.01, participants explore nature in late summer: On a short walk around the Weiskirchen Forest Recreation Centre, they collect aromatic herbs and potent roots, whilst learning about their distinguishing features, active ingredients and versatile uses. Afterwards, participants meet at the Christian-Zang-Haus (Rodgau Weiskirchen, Room 1, Schillerstr. 27b – participants make their own way there, approx. 900 m from the forest recreation area). There, the treasures collected will be processed into a natural product – for example, an ointment, tincture or other herbal preparation that you can take home with you. In addition, a small snack will be prepared from fresh wild herbs, which will be enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere. A hands-on workshop for anyone who would like to learn about wild plants throughout the year and experience their versatile uses. The course takes place on Saturday, 5 September from 2 pm to 5 pm. Please bring a chopping board, a knife and your own drinks. The material fee of 15 euros is to be paid in cash directly to the instructor on the day. Dogs are not permitted. Those interested can register online at www.vhs-rodgau.de or send a written registration to vhs Rodgau, Hintergasse 15. Further information is available from the staff at the Adult Education Centre on 06106 693 1225 or 1231.
