To celebrate UNESCO World Book Day on 23 April, the Nieder-Roden and Jügesheim public libraries are inviting all young readers to take part in an adventure scavenger hunt. During opening hours from 20 to 24 April, they can solve puzzles at various stations and win a book prize. "Ich schenk dir eine Geschichte" is a joint campaign by the book trade, Stiftung Lesen, Stiftung Buchkultur and the Börsenverein's reading promotion programme, Deutsche Post and DHL, cbj Verlag and ZDF. The aim of the initiative is to inspire children to read every year with stories that appeal to their interests. A comic novel was developed to ensure that the campaign is also successful in classes with different reading levels. In the novel "The Flying Class Scooter" by authors Andreas Hüging and Angelika Niestrath and illustrator Timo Grubing, best friends Lisa, Orhan and Dennis are given a very special homework assignment. Although they all have an aversion to science subjects, they have to invent something useful for the future. And surprisingly, they really enjoy it. Shortly afterwards, they set off on a trip to the local museum of the future and accidentally travel to the year 2176, where they encounter one of their inventions... So are they not "science nerds" after all?
