The WARNING alarm tone

  • You can listen to an example of the WARNING alert tone on the website of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK)
  • In the event of an emergency, the public is asked to follow further announcements on the radio, television or on their smartphones due to this fire alarm

The all-clear signal

  • A continuous tone that lasts for one minute

The fire alarm sound

  • A rising and falling tone followed by a 15-second pause that repeats three times
  • As a rule, this tone is no longer used in Rodgau because the fire brigade alerts itself internally in silence

  • to re-familiarise the population with the concept of public warning and its importance in the context of civil protection
  • to check the functioning of the individual sirens

What warning days are there, how do they work and when do they take place?

Municipal warning days

The municipal warning days, which are uniformly coordinated by the Offenbach district, generally take place on the first Saturday of the second month of a quarter. A standardised siren sound check is carried out.

  • A test warning is issued at around 11 a.m.
  • The all-clear is generally not given on municipal warning days so as not to create additional everyday stress for the population

Nationwide warning day

The state-wide warning day of the state of Hesse also takes place annually on every second Thursday in March - i.e. on 11 March in 2027. In addition to sirens, all other warning options, such as the hessenWARN warning app and the "cell broadcast" introduced by the federal government, are also used.

  • A test warning is issued at around 10:00 a.m.
  • Around 10.30 a.m. the all-clear


Nationwide warning day

The nationwide warning day usually takes place on the second Thursday in September each year . In addition to sirens, the NINA warning app and the "cell broadcast" introduced by the federal government are used.

  • A test warning is issued at around 11 a.m.
  • The all-clear at around 11.45 a.m.

The next nationwide warning day will take place on 10 September 2026.
