Local elections 2026

On 15 March 2026, general local elections will be held in Hesse, as well as elections to the Foreigners' Advisory Council in Rodgau.

Parties and voter groups have already been able to start drawing up their election proposals. In order to ensure that the nominations submitted were also authorised, it was particularly important to observe the legal requirements.

The complete election proposal with all required attachments had to be received by the election officer of the City of Rodgau by 6 p.m. on 5 January 2026 at the latest. As this was a cut-off deadline, earlier submission was recommended in good time so that any deficiencies could still be rectified.

The necessary forms can be downloaded from the website of the State Returning Officer.

The external service provider for cities and municipalities, ekom21, has made a database available free of charge for the organisation of election proposals. Here, the personal details of candidates can be maintained and transferred directly to the necessary forms. This tool is an enormous relief for parties and voter groups, as all the necessary documents and meeting transcripts are already stored here. Finally, a csv file can be created as an election proposal, which should be made available to the election office of the city of Rodgau for transferring the data. However, this does not replace the submission of election proposals in paper form and must be adhered to.

Registration for this software is possible via https://www.votemanager.de/parteienkomponente/.

General information on the local elections and foreigners' advisory council elections has already been published by the state electoral administration and is also regularly updated on the Rodgau city website in the form of public announcements:
