Current exhibition "Petrichor"

From 26 November 2025 to 14 January 2026

"Petrichor" is the name given to the earthy odour that develops on dry, warm soil after a rain shower. This melancholy-sounding term refers to a complex system of plant secretions and their interaction with special bacteria. It evokes nostalgic memories of summer days gone by. Surreal entanglements and mysterious processes also play a role in the exhibitors' works.

Norman Hildebrandt

  • ...show bizarre beings dealing with emotional entanglements and physical anomalies.
  • Surreal human-animal metamorphoses come to light, some of which fall prey to amorous activities.

Diane Preyer

  • ...her paintings lead the viewer into mysterious spaces and landscapes flooded with light.
  • The geometric sharp-edgedness of the architecture is dissolved by the light.

Nadine Röther

  • ...transforms everyday materials such as stapler needles, folding rules or wooden sticks that were once New Year's Eve rockets and leave their original purpose behind to become poetic spatial structures.
  • In assemblages and collages, fragments of objects and texts are preserved under a transparent layer of epoxy resin.

Željko Vidović

  • .... realises his ethereal and grotesque characters in the medium of drawing, animated film and ceramics. Vidović's protagonists grow together on the drawing paper into organically connected cliques.
  • The atmospheres are often gloomy and mystically diffuse, charged with a vulnerable sensuality.

All exhibitors will be present at the vernissage on 26 November 2025 and will answer questions from guests. Head of Cultural Affairs Winno Sahm will open the evening.
