Summer reading club "Book thirst" 2026

The popular summer reading club “Buchdurst” kicked off on 18 June at Jügesheim Municipal Library and on 19 June at Nieder-Roden Municipal Library. Pupils in Years 1 to 9 were able to register free of charge until 26 June.

How does Buchdurst work?

  • Read at least 3 books
  • Rate books on your reading log and describe them
  • Come along to the graduation party and win a prize
  • Last day for borrowing
    • in Jügesheim on 18 August
    • in Nieder-Roden on 14 August
  • Last day to hand in your reading card
    • in Jügesheim, 20 August
    • in Nieder-Roden on 21 August

Anyone who has read and rated at least 3 books during the summer holidays will be honoured with a certificate and automatically entered into the prize draw at the big closing ceremony at the end of the summer. The "Book Thirst Campaign" is a wonderful opportunity for children and young people to be inspired by captivating stories during the summer months and to share the joy of reading with like-minded people.
