Jazz Connects Festival 2026 - Izabella Effenberg Trio

As part of the second Jazz Connects Festival 2026, the Maximal Kulturinitiative is putting four bandleaders (Izabella Effenberg, Rebekka Trescher, Kerstin Haberecht, Eva Klesse) and their projects at the centre of its festival series.
We are kicking off the Maximal JC Festival with the Izabella Effenberg Trio on Saturday 25 April. The outstanding multi-instrumentalist constantly creates new and extraordinary soundscapes with her diverse range of instruments. Whether glass harp, vibraphone, array mbira or other special instruments - her music opens up magical sound spaces full of subtlety and depth. At Maximal, she is musically accompanied by two extraordinary musicians: drummer Jonas Sorgenfrei, who enhances his instrument with electronic sounds, and baritone and bass saxophonist Norbert Emminger, who brings powerful acoustic colours to the music.
