Remembrance Day "NO to violence against women"
"No to violence against women " - this is the official day of remembrance on 25 November, which has been recognised by the United Nations since 1999. However, human rights organisations around the world have been campaigning for the same goal since 1981: Respecting and protecting the human rights of women and girls. Sadly, domestic violence against women is still part of everyday life, even in our society. Any woman can be affected, regardless of origin, age or social status. The forms of violence are manifold: physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence, social, emotional and economic violence. Violence against women almost always also means violence against children. Simply witnessing the assault on the mother has a serious impact on the child's well-being and development. The town of Rodgau and the Rodgau Women's Network also firmly say "No to violence against women". As a visible sign and clear signal against discrimination and violence against women, the flag "Stop violence against women" will be hoisted on 25 November at 11 a.m. on the square in front of the town hall. On this day, the Rodgau Women's Network remembers all those women who have been victims of violence.
