Applying for a prostitution licence for a prostitution business

    If you have set up a prostitution business, you can have it operated by a representative. To do this, you can appoint one or more persons as a proxy. To do this, you must apply for a proxy licence for each person appointed as a proxy.

    The competent authority may grant this authorisation for a limited period.

    The competent authority checks whether the person designated to act as a deputy is reliable. If the person is unreliable, the authority will reject the application for authorisation to deputise.

    Please note that you may require further licences in addition to the licence requirement for the prostitution trade. You may also be required to register elsewhere. This applies in particular to the following legal areas:

    • Catering law
    • Trade law
    • Building law
    • Water law
    • Immission control law

    Mayor as the local regulatory authority; in municipalities with fewer than 7,500 inhabitants, the district administrator as the district regulatory authority

    • You have a valid licence or corresponding application ID for an online application to operate a prostitution business.
    • The person designated as deputy is at least 18 years old.
    • The person to be reported has agreed to a background check.
