Service description
The data on your ID card must always be up to date, otherwise the card will become invalid. If there are any changes, you must apply for a new ID card. Exception: Change of address (change in chip and address sticker)
Responsible office
Responsibility lies with the identity card authority (mayor/mayor) of the municipality of residence.

- German within the meaning of Article 116 (1) of the Basic Law (GG)
What fees are incurred?
If a new ID card needs to be issued, the fees are based on Section 1 of the German ID Card Fees Ordinance (PAuswGebV). Changing the address on the ID card is free of charge in accordance with § 1 Para. 5 of the ID Card Fees Ordinance (PAuswGebV).
