Issue or renew a fishing licence
Service description
Anyone wishing to fish in Hesse requires a valid fishing licence. The responsible municipality issues or renews this licence on application. The prerequisite is that a Hessian or Hessian-recognised fishing examination has been passed or that there are circumstances that make it unnecessary to take the fishing examination.
If the respective legal requirements are met, the supreme fishing authority recognises the state or state-recognised fishing examinations and fishing licences of other federal states [see general decree of 21.07.2011 (StAnz. 32/2011 p. 1035)].
If you do not have the right to fish in the respective body of water, you also require a fishing licence from the fishing rights holder or the fishing leaseholder of the body of water.
