Service description
Taking up work as a prostitute is only permitted if this activity has been registered in advance.
Procedure
Personal registration, if necessary with prior appointment. Personal counselling interview by the responsible authority. If the requirements are met: Issue of the registration certificate.
Prerequisites
Planned commencement of work as a prostitute if you have not yet registered with another authority, including outside Hesse.
Which documents are required?
- 2 photographs
- Proof of health counselling (maximum 3 months old)
- Passport, identity card, substitute passport or substitute identity card (residence permit)
- Work permit, if applicable

Consultation: EUR 32
Issue of certificate of registration: EUR 15 per certificateAdditional costs may be incurred for language mediation if the counselling interview cannot be conducted in German.

Registration must take place before taking up work as a prostitute.

What else should I know?
On request, a pseudonymised registration certificate (so-called alias name) can also be issued. The registration certificate (optionally the alias certificate) must be carried when working as a prostitute.
Persons from countries outside the EU must also regularly submit proof of authorisation to carry out dependent employment or self-employment ("work permit"). In many cases, the counselling interview can also be conducted in your native language. You can also bring a language mediator with you.
