Declaration of loss of a passport or identity card

    If the passport holder's passport has gone missing, i.e. the passport cannot be found, has been lost or stolen, the passport holder is obliged to notify the passport authority immediately of the loss and, if applicable, the recovery of the passport.

    If you need a replacement at short notice, you can be issued with an "express passport" (processing time max. 72 hours) or a "temporary passport".
