Pursuit of attacks by animals
Service description
If animals (domestic and wild) are currently endangering public safety, you should immediately inform either the police by dialling 110 or the emergency services by dialling 112.
This concerns the public safety of
- People
- other animals or
- road safety
If necessary, these facilities will inform the responsible authorities or eliminate the hazard themselves.
If a dog bite incident has occurred, a dog has jumped at a person in a dangerous manner or caused a hazard by suddenly tearing loose (for example in road traffic), a report should be made immediately to the relevant regulatory authority or the police.
Procedure
- Call the public order office, personal appearance, written notification
- Notification of where and when the animal/dog attack was seen
- Notification of the tax number and the dog owner (if known)
- Notification of identification mark for farm animals (if known)
- Information about the crime and possible witnesses
- If the public order office cannot be contacted, inform the police

The report or notification of the facts can be made informally (in writing, by e-mail, verbally on record with the competent authority).
If necessary, the responsible regulatory authority will also provide notification forms.
