    As part of a simple registration register enquiry, the registration authority will provide you with the surname, first names (with the common first name marked), doctor's degree and current addresses of the person you are looking for. If the person is deceased, you will be informed of this.

    Whether a registration authority provides you with information about the data of the person you are looking for is at the discretion of the authority. Simple information will not be provided if an information block has been entered in the population register or if the registration authority has reason to believe that this could jeopardise the interests of the person concerned or another person worthy of protection.

  • Prerequisites

    • The person you are looking for must be clearly identifiable on the basis of the information you provide. This means that you must already have data on the person concerned. This is usually the first name and surname, previous names, date of birth, gender or an address.
    • You must declare in the enquiry that you will not use the data for the purposes of advertising or address trading.
    • If you use the data for commercial purposes, you must specify this.
    • There must be no information block in the register of residents.
