Stories against forgetting

Stories against forgetting

The texts by Rodgau teenagers Hanna Kim and Justus Simon from the Georg Büchner School ( reported in the Offenbach Post) can be viewed via QR code on Holocaust Memorial Day as part of the commemorative event on 27 January 2026 from 7:30 pm in the town council meeting room of the town hall. After the event, the texts can also be read in the Nieder-Roden library.

In their contributions, they deal with the following questions:

  • What if the Nazis had never been propped up?
  • What if fascists rule again in 2033, 100 years after Hitler came to power?

More than 74,000 young people throughout Germany submitted entries to the 72nd European competition. The texts from Rodgau impressed the jury.

Hanna and Justus are standing in a light-coloured hallway, Simon is wearing a light-coloured hoodie, Hanna a dark denim jacket over a turtleneck jumper.

Hanna Kim was honoured with the prize for the best work in the "Being brave together" module.
