After "only" being a possibility at the beginning of February, it is now official: the SingBus of the German Choral Youth is coming to Rodgau on 8 May. On its nationwide journey, the converted lorry with fold-out stage will make a stop on the forecourt of the community centre in Dudenhofen - the so-called "Dalles". The SingBus brings music you can touch: In addition to a mobile stage, the project concept includes an interactive singing and ringing exhibition as well as various hands-on activities. The aim is to provide children, young people and anyone interested in music with low-threshold access to making music together. In the morning, a programme is planned especially for school classes and children's groups. From around 8.30 am to 11.30 am, classes can visit the SingBus and take part in short workshops and the hands-on exhibition. Pre-school children and school classes up to and including 6th grade are invited. The visit is free of charge and lasts approximately one hour per group. It is essential to register in advance. In the afternoon, the SingBus opens its stage to the public. A colourful music and hands-on programme is planned in which local groups can present themselves. The programme is not only aimed at children's choirs. Instrumental ensembles, school bands, wind or string groups, music clubs and singers are also invited to be part of the programme. The aim is a lively musical afternoon with short performances, spontaneous sing-alongs and lots of shared enjoyment of music. "The Singbus offers a wonderful opportunity to make music visible and tangible in our city," says Jennifer Jäger from the Agency for Economic Development and City Marketing, which is coordinating the project. "We are particularly pleased when many schools, clubs and music groups from Rodgau actively help to organise the day." Interested schools, daycare centres, clubs and music groups should register by 15 April at the latest by emailing Punkten@rodgau.de or calling 693-1216. With its stop in Rodgau, the SingBus will be part of a Germany-wide tour that focuses on singing and making music together.
