"Poetry for free" in the centre of the gallery

Writing poems spontaneously or on demand is an art. The artist and lyricist "Frau Blank" will be using this art on 12 April from 3 p.m. at the Rodgau Gallery in Nieuwpoorter Straße 90, where paintings by Beate Perschbacher and papier-mâché figures by Frauke Lorenz will be on display. "In the middle of the moment" is the title of the exhibition and Ms Blank will delight visitors with poetry in the middle of everyday life. The native of Darmstadt comes to the gallery with her typewriter. She sits there and makes contact with those present or with the art on display. In a completely analogue way and without AI, she creates spontaneous poems to take away "poetry for free". Petra Blank, whose artist's name is "Frau Blank", has been a solo freelance lyricist since 1995 and has always been active in art and cultural life. Her "Poesie der Pandemie" was selected by the Hessische Kulturstiftung 2022 for the digital showcase and presented live at the Hessian State Government Gala at the Wiesbaden State Theatre in 2023. Her latest format in 2026 is called "Poetry for free". In it, she comes to public places with her typewriter and types poems for passers-by. As part of the World Design Capital project, she will be using it in art kiosks in Darmstadt. But before that, the premiere of "Poetry for free" will take place in the Rodgau Gallery. The artist, who grew up in Rödermark, uses her own, mostly used materials, as upcycling is also an important part of her art. Since the end of 2024, "Frau Blank" has been a member of the Berufsverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler, or BBK for short. The gallery is open on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 21:00 and Sundays from 14:00 to 18:00. The current exhibition "Mitten im Moment" by Perschbacher and Lorenz runs until 27 May. Admission is free.
