Laughter pays off

A donation of 1,000 euros was collected for the Hospiz am Wasserturm hospice as part of the "20 Years of FFH Dummfrager" event on Puiseauxplatz. Representatives of the city council symbolically handed over the sum to the hospice foundation in a treasure chest. The event took place last May as a prelude to the city festival, which was also celebrated on Puiseauxplatz on the following days. The evening was organised by the Rodgau public library in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sport and Volunteering. On the open-air stage, Boris Meinzer, known as the FFH dummy questioner, provided the best entertainment with his anniversary tour. Colleagues from the city administration took care of the physical well-being and sold drinks, the proceeds of which went entirely to the hospice. In addition, numerous visitors took the opportunity to make voluntary donations. The city finally rounded up the amount collected to 1,000 euros. The successful combination of culture, humour and social commitment made it clear that events can not only entertain, but also make a valuable contribution to the community.
