The city council has announced that it will be paying more attention to compliance with the parking space regulations with immediate effect. This is due to spot checks which have revealed that the legally required parking spaces have not always been provided for construction projects. The stricter controls particularly affect new buildings and changes of use. "Compliance with the parking space regulations is not a bureaucratic end in itself," emphasises the city council. "It serves the common good: by creating sufficient parking spaces on the properties, the public car park is noticeably relieved. This benefits all citizens." Failure to comply with the parking space regulations constitutes an offence that can be punished with a fine. The city council therefore appeals to all developers, investors and architects to include and implement the requirements of the parking space regulations in their plans from the outset. If you have any questions about the parking space regulations and the requirements for building projects, please contact the municipal building advice centre on 06106 693-1616 or email bau@rodgau.de. In this way, ambiguities can be clarified at an early stage in order to avoid possible fines.
